The main features of the
trip include:
-Roundtrip with
great company from Nairobi to Nanyuki and back
-Stop over at
Karatina town for breakfast and buying snacks (Optional and self-sponsored)
-Ice-breaking
and team building activities before the start of the hike
-Walking on the
canopy walkway, which is a 40 feet high aerial bridge of wire mesh and cables
meandering through the tree canopy. It is an amazing 450 meters long
-Relaxing on a
30-feet high elevated wooden platform where occasionally, elephants and
buffaloes go to drink water (There is always a probability of spotting them)
-Hiking to the
Ngare Ndare falls, which is about 3.5km from the canopy walkway
-Viewing
different wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, birds etc.
-Ngare Ndare is
the only indigenous forest in Kenya with an expanding canopy cover, and some of
the ancient African Olive and Red Cedar trees within it are thought to be
around 200 years old
-Elephant and
buffalo are frequently seen here, as they make their way from Lewa Wildlife
Conservancy to the rich grazing on the hills of Mt. Kenya.

in the natural river pool

in the great sceneries of the waterfalls

Option 2: Lake Magadi road trip
Depart from
Nairobi in the morning, and head south towards the Ngong Hills
Before we
descend over the escarpment, we stop for photos and views across the Great Rift
Valley. Then descend over the Ngong Hills, continuing south into a semi-arid
landscape, up to lake Magadi. We approach the lake from the eastern side via
the Magadi town and past the Magadi Soda factory. Enter the Lake Magadi reserve
area and continue onto the hot springs where for swimming and wading in the
springs (if the weather is not too hot). We may meet the local Maasai who use
the lake daily for swimming. It is possible to see animals around Magadi like
zebra, gazelle, impala and warthog & birds (Flamingos)
Relax or Swim at
Sports Club Restaurant as we have our lunch
Later head back
to Nairobi after an awesome trip.
