KENYA CAMPING SAFAR

KENYA CAMPING SAFARI 
DAY 1-NAIROBI
1800HRS: Welcome Meeting. Refer to welcome meeting notes. Collect the clients’ insurance details and  trip vouchers. Collect the email addresses as well and submit them online. Inform Departure time the next day.
DAY 2. APPROXIMATELY 350KM TRAVEL DISTANCE.
0700HRS:  Breakfast at the Restaurant and check out of the hotel.
0800HRS:  Departure from the Boulevard to Samburu past the Main Thika Highway. Drive past the central highlands along the pineapple plantations. Have a brief stopover at Kibingoti Sagana for five minutes before resuming the journey further north past the coffee plantations in Nyeri and Karatina.Have a five minutes break at Nakumatt Nanyuki for shopping and ATM stop.
1300HRS: Have a picnic lunch enroute with the spectacular view of Mount Kenya on a cloudless day.
1330HRS: Proceed further North of Kenya and Enter the Northern Frontier District. The land with a medley of five ethnic communities. The Maa sub group of Samburu and Turkana, The Cushitic subgroup of the Gabbra Rendille and Boranas.
1600Hrs: Arrival at Archers post and proceed to a Samburu Village cultural visit. Here the Samburu people showcase their cultural practices such as social organization, their way of governance, and their general way of life.
1630HRS: First game drive at Samburu National Reserve enroute to our campsite.
1800HRS: ETA arrival time at the campsite a brief tour of the site. Unpack in readiness for dinner.
1900HRS: Dinner with the rest of the crew and a time to unwind about the day. A briefing for day 2 should be done at this time.
DAY 3. GAME DRIVES AT SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE.
0630HRS: Tea or coffees with toast then depart in search of the wildlife and the northern special five. This include the Endangered Grevys Zebra, the Beisa Oryx , the Long necked giraffe gazelle also known as the Gerenuk, the graceful reticulated Giraffe, and finally the Somali ostrich otherwise known as the ‘blue legs’.
1100HRS: Come back to camp for brunch. Then spend time at leisure until the next game drive
1600HRS: Evening Game Drive at the Reserve. This is also the Best time to spot the cats as they like to hunt in the early mornings and late evenings as the sun sets. Also a good time to sport the other animals since they are very active crazing and browsing. Depending on the water levels, there is a likelihood of spotting crocodiles on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.
1830HRS: Drive back to camp take a shower or help around the camp to set for dinner.
1900HRS: Serve Dinner, and unwind the days proceedings. Briefing on the next day’s programme. Go to bed at leisure.
DAY 4. SAMBURU-NAKURU.
0630HRS:  Breakfast and departure.
0700HRS: Depart Camp and have an enroute game drive at the Reserve. Head south departing the Northern Frontier district. Pass through the undulating slopes of Mount Kenya and see the golden wheat fields. Have a brief stopover at Nanyuki town for a chance to replenish water and a few personal effects. Proceed with journey and pass a relatively rough murram road for about an hour. This road cuts though some of the famous private ranches and conservation areas in Kenya. Resume the really smooth tarmac road with a nice view of the aberdare ranges.
1300HRS: Stop for lunch at the Equator. And have a break of fifteen minutes or so before resuming the journey to Nakuru. 
1400HRS: Proceed with the journey pass a few settlements before getting to the main Nyahururu Township. Take the main Nyahururu Nakuru highway. Have a brief stopover at the Nyahururu view point for some scenic photos as you take in the beauty of the beautiful Kenyan landscape and wonder about the geographical formations. Proceed with the journey and have a chance of getting into one of the coffee and tea plantations. Resume the journey to Nakuru.
1700HRS: Estimated time of arrival. Take your tents a chance to have a shower.
1900HRS: settle for dinner at the dining hall with an option of having a drink at the available bar. Unwind about the day and have the next days programme. Retire to bed at leisure.
DAY 5- FULL DAY GAME DRIVE AT NAKURU NATRIONAL PARK
0730HRS: Breakfast and departure
0800HRS: Departure to the Nderit Gate to access the park. Take time to go through the famous spots of the park like the Makalia falls, take time to visit the lake itself to see the abundant birdlife available. There is also a very high likelihood of seeing the massive white rhinos and may be if keen and lucky enough a chance to spot the aggressive and elusive back rhino and if really lucky a leopard. Also take time to visit the different lookout points of the park like the baboon cliff and also the renowned Out of Africa lookout points.
1300HRS: Have a picnic lunch at a convenient spot preferably away from the baboons.
1400HRS: Proceed deeper into the park in search of the Cats and the herbivores in the park which include the buffalo zebras Elands and Giraffes just to name a few.
1630HRS: Back to camp. With a wide range of activities and games before settling for dinner.
1900HRS: Dinner , Unwind about the days activities brief about the next days programme then retire to bed at will.
DAY 6. NAKURU-MASAAI MARA
0630hrs: Breakfast and departure.
0700HRS: Depart Camp and take the Main Nakuru Nairobi Highway. Along the Highway you will be able to spot another one of the rift valley lakes – Lake Elementaita.  This part of the country has a rich history dating back to the colonial era  it harbors quite a number of Ranches as well. When you Approach Naivasha town you will also get to see another one of the rift valley lakes and this one is named Lake Naivasha.  This is a scenic route as you will also get to see some other land formations such as mount longonot and suswa which are dormant volcanoes’.
1300HRS: Arrive at the permanent tented camp in Maasai Mara. Take your tents then have lunch. Have a short siesta or read a book as we wait for the afternoon game drive.
1600HRS: Depart camp and proceed to th

e Oloolaimutiak Gate ready for the first Game drive in Maasai Mara. This reserve is renowned for its large population in wildlife. Go out in search for game.
1830HRS: Head back to camp have a quick shower in readiness for Dinner.
1900HRS: Dinner. Go over the days happenings. A briefing for the next days programme. Retire to bed at will.
DAY 7. FULL DAY GAME DRIVE MAASAI MARA
0730HRS: Breakfast and departure.
0800HRS: Departure for the day and go into the reserve for sa full day drive. Transverse into the grass land savannah in search of the big Game.  Learn about the wildlife habitat of this region. Also learn about the human animal conflicts in this area and how to deal with each other. Also learn about the relation between Maasai Mara and Serengeti. Take breathtaking photos of the unique Flora and Fauna of this Area.
13000HRS: Have a picnic lunch under a cool shade of the African ballenite.
1400HRS: Go to the Mara river see the various schools of Hippos. Transverse the Grass lands in search for more Game.
1700HRS: Estimated time of arrival at the campsite. 2 hours at leisure before gathering at the dining hall for dinner recap on the days happenings and brief on the next days programme. Retire to bed at leisure.
DAY 8
0630hrs: Break fast and departure.
0700HRS: Departure. Have one final Game drive enroute the exit gate.
1000HRS: Depart the Gate and head outside the Reserve. Have picnic lunch at a convenient place before heading back to Nairobi.
1500HRS: Estimated time of arrival at Hotel Boulevard. Say your goodbyes to the rest of the crew. The Tour Leader will be available at the clients’ disposal for the rest of the day.

DAY 9. END OF SAFARI
0800HRS: Breakfast together with the group. Tour leader may assist the clients with any other programmes such as booking excursions.
